Beginners Yoga Classes

Suitable for complete beginners and those getting back into a yoga practice, or perhaps recovering from injury/illness or in the second trimester of pregnancy.

Gentle yoga postures that allow us to become aware of our present physical capabilities, beginning where you are. Practicing breath awareness, linked with movement, slowly building strength, flexibility & confidence.

You will be supported with lots of options for modifying the poses and invited to use yoga props to go at your own pace. We rest & settle down to enjoy the relaxation at the end of each session.

Hatha Yoga Class All Levels

HATHA YOGA FOR ALL LEVELS

These classes are popular and are suitable for everybody.

In Hatha yoga we work with breath & movement, enjoying gently stretching the body, aligning the muscles and bones. Opening the many energy channels of the body, especially the spine, so that energy can flow freely.

Expect gentle flow sequences with various options given for poses and the use of yoga props.

Build balance, flexibility, vitality and strength when practised regularly.
Enjoy a guided relaxation at the end.

ASHTANGA YOGA

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing yoga practice where movement is linked to breath, each posture is a preparation for the next, developing the strength and balance required to move further.

Continuous, deep even breathing is the basis of the vinyasa system. Ashtanga yoga follows a set sequence of postures and I guide you through the half primary sequence up to Navasana (boat pose)

A strong physical dynamic yoga practice suited to students who prefer a more challenging practice.

SIX WEEK PROGRAMME - YOGA FOR CORE STRENGTH & BACK HEALTH

Yoga for Core Strength & Back Health

Focusing on the tools of yoga to support core strength & back health.

Sequences to build core stability improve balance & posture, helping maintain a happy, healthy spine. 

Suitable for all abilities and post natal recovery.

I offer plenty of modifications and we often use yoga straps & yoga blocks to assist our practice.

Unwind & relax at the end of the session with a guided relaxation.

No yoga experience is necessary to join this programme.

GENTLE YOGA FOR STRENGTH AND MOBILITY

This gentle yoga class is a great way to gently build and maintain strength and flexibility.

You can alternatively also use a chair in these sessions, gaining all the same benefits without the need to get up and down from the floor.

Class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

We focus on joint mobility and strengthening key muscles, repeating similar sequences each week, practicing safely and within our own limits.

These sessions are perfect for seniors, beginners or students working around injuries/limited mobility.

Wednesday Mornings 11am - 12pm

YOGA FOR RELAXATION

In this nourishing, relaxing yoga class I guide you through a sequence of restorative yoga postures using props such as bolsters, cushions, blankets and eye pillows to induce relaxation. Restorative yoga is a passive and deeply therapeutic form of yoga that provides deep rest for tired bodies, relaxation for busy minds and rejuvenation for the entire nervous system Surrendering our weight to the props to relax allows you to hold poses longer, giving you all the benefits of deep passive stretching.

The class ends with yoga Nidra a guided meditation or the sound of my Himalayan bowls…pure bliss!

SOUNDBATH IMMERSION

Join me for a blissful immersion of healing sound and yoga nidra. Wear comfortable warm clothing as all there is do do is rest into a cosy nest and let go…

Enjoy the opportunity to take some time for yourself to truly relax and be immersed in the soothing and therapeutic sounds of Crystal Bowls, Himalayan Singing Bowls & Percussive Instruments.

This Immersion can facilitate feelings of deep relaxation and wellbeing, and help with a good night's sleep as well as reducing stress levels, anxiety, fatigue and tension.

  • Everything you need for your yoga practice is at the studio, but you are very welcome to bring your own mat, yoga props and water.

  • If you prefer to pay in studio just let me know and I will add your booking to the system to reserve your place.

  • You can cancel/amend or reschedule your booking from your confirmation or reminder email up to an hour before class.
