Prenatal yoga is suitable for both beginning students and experienced practitioners. During pregnancy, yoga can play a key role in enhancing the experience of this precious time and empowering mother-to-be to have the most conscious birth experience. Yoga can help women enjoy their pregnancy with minimal discomfort, cultivate breath awareness and strengthen the body in preparation for labour and the classes will be great opportunity to meet other mums-to-be in the area and have yourself some ‘me time’ to breathe stretch and relax.
POST NATAL YOGA – COMING SOON
Postnatal yoga is a style of yoga that addresses the physical, mental and emotional challenges of being a new mum as well as the aftermath of pregnancy. These classes with give you some time and space for just for you, to breathe, stretch and relax and recharge.
Physical concerns for new mums, include a weak pelvic floor from delivery, aching neck and shoulders from feeding baby, loss of endurance from the physical strain of labour, weak and stretched-out abdominal muscles, and fatigue from getting up to feed the newborn every few hours. Postnatal yoga addresses these issues with meditation, breathing practices and womb friendly yoga.
Some of the benefits of Postnatal Yoga include:

HATHA YOGA (All Abilities)

This is a general yoga class which is suitable for most students, you begin where you are. Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (asanas) designed to align the muscles and bones and open the many energy channels of the body, especially the spine, so that energy can flow freely. Hatha yoga is intended to create a balance of strength and flexibility in the body as well as a balance of effort and surrender in each asana.

Start your yoga journey here… these classes are for complete beginners and those getting back into a practice. Gentle physical postures that allow us to become aware of our present physical capabilities..beginning were you are, learning breath awareness, linking it to movement, slowly, slowly building strength and confidence.
BEGINNERS SIX WEEK PROGRAMMES – WEDNESDAY EVENINGS 6.15pm
This six week introduction is open to all, if you have no yoga experience, or it’s something you would like to try, or perhaps haven’t the confidence to join a class, or for what ever reason, by joining this programme for six weeks you will be introduced to the classical body of yoga postures and basic sequences. You begin just where you are, we focus on healthy alignment principles and an introduction to breathing practices will help build strength, flexibility and confidence creating a foundation for your yoga practice. Class sizes are kept to 10 students, so personal attention is guaranteed. Contact me for next programmes.
SIX WEEK YOGA FOR CORE STRENGTH AND BACK HEALTH PROGRAMME WEDNESDAY EVENING 8.00pm
This programme uses the tools of yoga with a focus on breath and alignment of the body and asana practice to begin to build our core and back strength over a 6 week period. No previous experience is necessary to join this course, we all begin where we are. Contact me for next programmes.
Tuesday Mysore (self practice) 6.15pm – 7.30pm
Beginners Ashtanga Friday 9.30am – 11.15am
Ashtanga yoga is for students who prefer a dynamic yoga practice. The led class follows the half primary sequence of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, we use the same set sequence of postures every week, working with breath and bandhas (energy locks), building heat and energy in the body. It is intended to realign the spine, detoxify the body, and build strength, flexibility and stamina. When you learn to practice the sequence on your own you can join Mysore class which is the traditional method of the Ashtanga practice.
YOGA FOR DEEP RELAXATION- RESTORATIVE YOGA WITH YOGA NIDRA
8.00 – 9.15pm Thursday
These classes are for everybody, if you recovering from injury or illness, or have limited mobility, if you want a gentle class, or need to learn to relax and let-go, release stress and tension this class is for you. We work with props to support the body in positions of ease and comfort, to facilitate relaxation Beginning to unwind, rest and digest, an ideal way to eliminate stress creating a feeling of well being within oneself. Yoga Nidra is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.

If you feel you would like some individual tuition for whatever reason, a private yoga class is the ideal option. You may be working around injury or illness, or you are in need a tension-releasing stretch session or just need to build some confidence we will create a practice to meet your needs, and give you exactly what you need from a yoga practice.

Come as a family, or if you belong to a group or organisation and would like a small group up to 12 students to come to the studio for therapy or classes we can accommodate specialist sessions – eg: Chair yoga exercise – Yoga for weight loss – Yoga for living with cancer – Yoga for diabetes. Or you can book me to come to you.

- YOGA SHOULD BE PRACTISED ON AN EMPTY STOMACH, SO LEAVE AT LEAST THREE HOURS AFTER A MAIN MEAL, OR TWO HOURS AFTER A SNACK.

Classes: Please give 3 hours notice for a class cancellation, otherwise no refund will be given, you will have the option to book onto another class. For a no show, no option will be provided.
Workshops: Please give 48 hours notice for workshop cancellations, otherwise no refund will be given, you will have the option to book onto another workshop. For no shows, no refund will be provided.
Yoga Therapy: Please give 48 hours notice for cancellations of yoga therapy appointments, you will have the option to book another appointment, if cancelling less than 12 hours prior to an appointment or fail to turn up, you will be charged for the appointment.
